Spirit to Matter: Alchemy in the Making

Artists Pasha Kincaid, Marianne Scahill-Pape, Raisa Watkiss and Shivani Khoshia along with selected local artists, are exhibiting a myriad of artworks that explore creativity as an alchemical process –  art channelling ideas into form; art manifesting stories into culture; and reflecting the divine in humanity.


The exhibition runs from Monday October 28th to Friday November 22nd, weekdays 11am- 5pm and is part of Leicester Art Week. Find out more about exhibtions and activities across the city at http://www.leicesterartweek.com/

Fri October 25th, 5-10pm: Last Friday exhibition launch: The launch will include “The Earth’s Monologue ” a performance by Joy Yaa Kincaid. The gallery is free to enter but tickets are required for the rest of Last Friday which includes street food, drinks, comedy, music, pop up shops and more. Last Friday is part of @cqlates live music, art, cinema, pop up shops and after parties in venues across Leicester’s Cultural Quarter


Tuesday November 5th, 11am-12pm Craft Club. A new club for adults with disabilities on the 1st Tuesday of the month! Are you an adult with a disability? Are you creative? come along to chat and make things. Materials proivided, just drop in! £5 on the door

Weds Nov 13, 2 – 4pm. Sister Circle: An event for women and those who identity as women. With Dr Pooja Shah and artist Pasha Kincaid – both artists will present their work and offer an opportunity for making and discussion. Dr Shah will talk about the memories and the making of home – through knitting practice; Pasha will be sharing about centring care, care for self, care for each other. Herbal teas or teapot tea will be provided. PWYC

Weds Nov 13, 6.30 – 9pm. New Media Art Club Gallery Screenings Presents: Children of Men. Selected by Curator Pasha Kincaid. Alfonso Cuarón’s dystopian masterpiece “Children of Men” (2006) offers a haunting vision of a world grappling with human extinction. Set against the backdrop of global infertility, the film explores themes of hope, rebirth, and the resilience of the human spirit – echoing the transformative essence of our “Spirit to Matter” exhibition. Sat 16th, 7-9pm. A Film to Change Your Life: The Mermaid. Join the first screening of the ‘A Film to Change Your Life’ series, a curated programme of international films that are inspiring, informative, and thought-provoking. ‘The Mermaid’, a comedy action romance reflecting on the subject of ocean biodiversity — in a comical manner.
