As part of the national Festival of Archaeology, LCB Depot is hosting a Roman-themed family day in partnership with the University of Leicester School of Archaeology and Ancient History, ULAS, Leicester Classics Hub, Leicestershire Young Archaeologists Club, Friends of Jewry Wall, and Honey Craft.
Throughout the day there will be free drop-in activities designed to engage toddlers to ten year olds (and their grown ups) in many aspects of Roman life, with opportunities to:
● Become a Roman engineer and build a working aqueduct
● Become a Roman artist and build a giant mosaic
● Design an amazing roman building in Minecraft
● Become a Centurion and join a garrison
● Visit a Roman shop and buy a beeswax candle
…and more..in our secret cafe garden!
To guarantee a chance to build Roman Leicester in Minecraft we ask attendees to bring their own tablets or laptops. Register for the event to receive setup advice on how to ensure your child has maximum Minecraft time.
