Film & Photography

Our Film and Photography season will run across LCB Depot from March 7th – 25th with exhibitions in real life Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and via our social media gallery online at @lcbdepot

The programme will contain work from invited Leicester/shire based artists and designers as well as an open call for other professionals based (or studying) in Leicester/shire or inter/nationally.

Thu 10th 6-8pm: Opportunities for filmmakers. Find out about development and funding opportunities from Phoenix REAL Initiative, Doc Society and BFI NETWORK plus successfully awarded filmmaker Cassiah Joski-Jethi AND a chance to watch Cassiah’s BFI funded short Catch a Butcher, eat, drink and network with your fellow Leicestershire based talent! Sat 12th, 12-4pm: Cultural Quarter Earlies. Free creative family activities:At @lcbdepot as part of their Film season Make art with the sun! with @leicesterlofi Make movies with Maya & Make your favourite movie characters in Minecraft! + exhibitions, Grays cafe & courytard garden No need to book, just drop in. more details here

Fri 18th 6-8pm An evening with Filmmakers. Screenings and Q&A with industry experts Jim Shields and Rhys Davies. Jim will be talking about his approach to making entertaining educational films. Rhys will be screening Beverly, an a award winning film with Vicky McClure. Both will be answering your questions! More info and free tickets here

Wed 23rd 7pm, online: From Leicester Filmmakers Hub: Jennifer Handorf – Five ways to your dream job. Independent Film Producer Jennifer Handorf. This is an ideal opportunity for people thinking of starting a professional career in the film or television industry, or anyone who might be struggling or frustrated with where they are in their career as filmmakers. Thu 24th 8pm at Phoenix: The Short Cinema Show & Tell – Young Filmmakers Takeover.  This time Show & Tell is showcasing young local filmmaking talent in partnership with Made in the Midlands – a scheme from BFI Film Academy that turns the spotlight on films made in right here in the Midlands region.
