In a few short years, Octopus Energy has gone from a small, unknown challenger energy supplier to an award-winning tech unicorn, with a global brand and millions of customers. This talk will cover how they brought inclusive tech and experiences to the regulated energy space, through the setup and global rollout of the pattern libraries for their retail and SaaS brands – Octopus & Kraken.
About Ashley
Ashley Firth is the Global Head of Front-end Development at award-winning energy supplier Octopus Energy. Since the company’s formation, he and his teams have worked with customers to understand their needs and use technology to make the most inclusive energy supplier possible. His book Practical Web Inclusion & Accessibility reached number one in the Amazon technology charts, and guides people through a range of access needs and the barriers users often face, and provides practical advice on how your sites can help rather than hinder. Away from Octopus, he acts as a consultant to government bodies and private companies to help them improve their approach to accessibility.
