Grill Brazil
Making their debut at Canteen we welcome Grill Brazil. They are a husband and wife team that worked in the food industry in Brazil and then made the decision to bring their traditional Brazilian BBQ to the UK. They use premium cuts of meat which are cooked to perfection on a charcoal BBQ accompanied with sides & sauces. How does charcoal grilled prime steak, caramelised onions, grilled Samba or Crioulo sausage sound? If you like your meat – you will not be disappointed!
Canoodle
Also returning is one of Birmingham’s original and best street food traders, Canoodle. Specialising in Pan-Asian food, they will always have something new to tempt you along with old favourites. Everything at Canoodle is made from scratch without resorting to any bought-in curry pastes or sauces so you can be sure you will receive high quality restaurant standard food, whatever you choose. All of Canoodles curries are dairy, gluten and nut free. Watch out for some Canteen exclusives on the menu
The English Indian
The English Indian are giving Classic Fish & Chips a new lease of life, offering a choice of either Fish & Chips or Halloumi & Chips freshly cooked on site. Their Cod and Halloumi are marinated in their secret recipe and fried in their own Pakora Batter, all accompanied with Hand Cut Chat Masala Chips, Mint & Chilli Garden Peas, Madras Chip Shop Curry Sauce, Sweet Chilli Jam and fresh Coriander & Lime. All options from The English Indian are also gluten free.
Pluk’d
Bringing you Leicester’s best gourmet chicken wings, Plukd will soon be opening a permanent home in Leicester, July 2017, but before that happens, they’ll be here for one night only at Canteen, as part of their “Wingin’ It Tour”. Expect a variety of flavour options from super hot, sweet and sticky and a very special Sailor Jerry version! The almighty Wing Sting Challenge is also back!
The Italian Stallion
Local to Leicestershire; The Italian Stallion produce authentic Neapolitan wood fired pizza from their majestically converted vintage horse trailer. They only ever use the best San Marzano tomatoes from the foot of Mount Vesuvius for their pizza sauce, and delicious Fior di Latte mozzarella which they get imported weekly from Italy too. The rest of their toppings menu changes all the time, to make the best of both the Italian ingredients available to us, as well as local, seasonal produce.
Platinum Pancakes
This month’s dessert vendor Platinum Pancakes is a Birmingham based company that’s been at the forefront of the street food revolution in Birmingham. They offer a unique product using local ingredients of the highest quality and freshness. They serve their pancakes in a modern way with passion and flair. Watch out for some Canteen exclusives!
Grays
Based in the LCB depot; Grahame and the team have been bringing fresh seasonal food to Leicester since 2013. Canteen gives Grays the chance to do extra special dishes that normally wouldn’t feature on their usual menus, perfectly complementing the other traders. We look forward to seeing what they come up with the full menu coming soon!
The hugely popular boutique cocktail bar will also return in association with William Grant and Sons along with one of the UK’s leading bartenders, Stephen Pennack, who is back after such a fantastic event in April. With summer finally here The Boutique Bar will also be providing refreshing slushie cocktails in collaboration with Sub Zero Slush. This month the exclusive after party for Canteen will be taking place at The Shed, around the corner from the event on Yeoman Street, from 9pm featuring Mr Hickford from Promised Land playing funk, soul & disco with a range of special drinks offers.
