In May 2023 the LCB creative programme focuses on contemporary Craft with exhibitions, talks and workshops, and creative family activities.

The exhibition ‘Making It’ comprises of work from Design Nation Leicestershire, DMU Design Crafts 2nd years, and work selected from our Open Call.

Visit weekdays 9am-5pm from Mon May 15th to Fri June 2nd (+ when we’re open for events). You can also see the exhibition on social media @lcbdepot with a new artist profiled every day.

Sat 13th, 12-4pm. Creative Family Day. Join us this month to play with clay! Make snails, paint pots, fix china + plan the next seasons plants in our garden.  Part of @cqearlies. Sat 20th, 11-4pm at Attenborough Arts Centre, Craft & Art Fair 2023 Meet, browse and buy from 50 selected exhibitors at each fair, showcasing some of the best craft, art and artisan foods from across our region. FREE entry. More info here

Fri 26th, 2-5pm: Punch Needling Workshop with Mya Kelley. Join Making It artist Mya Kelley to learn how to punch needle or tuft and meet others interested in the craft. Tickets available here

Fri 26th, 5-10pm: Last Friday: street food, drinks, comedy, music, pop up shops and more. Advance tickets £2.20 here Part of @cqlates art, dancing, DJs, activities and alt shops in venues across Leicester’s Cultural Quarter


Thurs June, 1st 10-4pm Cane making demonstration with @kerryberryarts. Join Kerry Rowberry for a demonstration of how to make polymer clay canes that can be used as small tiles for jewellery, trinket boxes, handles and more. Pop back over the course of the day to see how the process develops. FREE
