Antiphony
16, November 2018 - 26, January 2019

on show in our Print Room and at Leicester Print Workshop

Antiphony was a historical method of music production, whereby two sets of voices sang alternately, through a call and response. For this year’s Leicester Print Workshop (LPW) Members’ show, artists were invited to propose print-based artwork that explored the idea of a response through time. The exhibition demonstrates ways in which printmaking is not just a method of production but also a way of thinking, and reveals how printmaking is influenced by and informs other art practices such as drawing, installation and artist books.

The exhibition is part of Leicester Art Week (24 Nov – 1 Dec) and includes interventions throughout the LPW building at 50 St George Street LE1 1QG.
